A collection of a few of my video editing projects, accompanied by my creative process.
This was my first ever attempt at mixed media animation, created in the summer before 11th grade! Although my prior experience in editing helped, I encountered a lot of challenges with this new technique. Ultimately, this project encouraged me to experiment with different editing styles and introduced me to what is now my favorite form of editing.
After watching To Be Hero X, I was inspired by its unique animation style, which constantly shifts between distinct artstyles to reflect each character's storyline and development. This inspired me to incorporate different editing styles into a singular video edit. In this one, I combined motion graphics, typography, 3D camera movement, and mixed media animation. This pushed me outside of my comfort zones, but it completely changed my approach to editing. I now dedicate larger amounts of time to a singular edit, often combining different methods, that I can confidently take pride in.
I created this video edit combining videos and images from a variety of TV shows, movies, and music artists that I love. I experimented with a variety of editing methods, including tweened animation, text expressions, and mixed-media animation. This is by far my most time-intensive project, where I took anywhere from 40 to 60 hours, over the course of about a month.Â
This is my most recent full mixed media animation. Hearing KiiiKiii's "Pop Off Pop Off", the song sounded like a combination of several of my favorite music artists. I was inspired to incorporate all of those artists into one animation, experimenting with manually printed text for the first time.
